African Wild Dog BehaviorAfrican wild dogs have a highly developed social structure. They live in packs of 10-15 animals. These animals communicate through vocalizations, body posture, and licking. African wild dogs also hunt in packs. They hunt twice a day, usually at dawn and dusk. African wild dogs are exclusively carnivorous animals and eat antelope, zebras, wildebeest, springboks, gazelles and impala. Wild dogs are extremely efficient hunters; their prey rarely escapes.
